NOLI ME TANGERE International Edition.

The first Filipino classic novel of the nineteenth century  NOLI ME TANGERE (Touch Me Not), the first of twin novels – the other being EL FILIBUSTERISMO – by the foremost Filipino national hero and patriot and the Father of the Filipino Race, Dr. Jose P. Rizal, has been published by Penguin books, England and the U.S.  This edition is for international release. It is a significant addition to Penguin’s series of world classics in literature.

The Penguin NOLI is most ably translated, “reads, first, like an original, second, like the original” by the South American scholar and Hispanista Professor Harold Augenbraum. Dr. Rizal wrote the NOLI originally in high Castilian.  It not only ignited the Philippine Revolution of 1898 against Spain; it also remains today the best Philippine novel.
